Women’s Soccer Drops Match To NHTI, 4-1

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit Community College women's soccer team dropped a tough battle out of regional play to New Hampshire Technical Institute, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon.

Massasoit (5-4-0) trailed 2-0, as NHTI's Sarah Brown netted a pair of goals for the visitors. The Warriors were able to get on the scoreboard prior to halftime, as Melanie Thompson (Middleboro, Mass.) corralled a punt from goalie Kristin Reardon (Weymouth, Mass.) to score her team-best 14th goal of the season at the 41:13 mark.

Thompson has now scored eight goals over the last three games.

The Warriors still trailed by just a goal, but NHTI tacked on insurance goals in the 85th and 86th minutes to earn the road victory.

In net, NHTI fired a total of 25 shots, as Massasoit's Reardon made a season-best 17 saves.

The next game for Massasoit is set for Wednesday, with a road contest at CCRI. The match is set for 3:30 p.m.
