Women’s Hoops Captures Multiple Accolades from World Exposure Report

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The World Exposure Report recently announced its honors for the 2019-20 season with the Massasoit women's basketball team capturing multiple awards at the Junior College Division III level. Ty Hawkins (Brentwood, N.Y.) earned Sophomore of the Year, Shardajah Collins (Winter Haven, Fla.) was named Freshman of the Year and Mark Leszczyk earned Coach of the Year accolades.

Both Hawkins and Collins were also named World Exposure Report First Team All-Americans by leading the Warriors to a 24-1 overall record and capturing the program's second-ever Region 21 Championship.

Hawkins led Massasoit in scoring and set the single-season scoring record for the Warriors, averaging 31.1 points per game. The sophomore also averaged 5.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest.

Collins averaged 18.2 points per game, second on the Warriors, while leading the nation in steals per game at 5.5 a contest. The freshman added 5.3 assists per game at Massasoit.

Leszczyk led Massasoit to a 24-1 record and saw the Warriors ranked in every single NJCAA National poll during the 2019-20 campaign. In his second season in Brockton, Leszczyk led Massasoit to just its second ever NJCAA Tournament appearance by winning the program's second regional title in school history.
