Massasoit Women’s Hoops Places Five on All-Region 21 Teams

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- A total of five Massasoit women's basketball players earned All-Region 21 recognition, announced by the league office on Monday.

The Warriors put a trio of student-athletes on the league's first team in Ky'Jae Hargrove (New Haven, Conn), Shania Osborne (Fairfield, Conn.) and Nina Robinson (Virginia Beach, Va.)

Freshman Alyson Reid (Boston) earned a spot on the second team, with Daja Polk (Fairfield, Conn.) earning honorable mention accolades.

Hargrove led the Warriors in scoring average (22.7) and assists per game (4.6) during her freshman campaign donning the Green and White. The speedy point guard shot an impressive 52.6 percent from the floor and tallied 30 or more points on four occasions.

The post presence duo of Shania Osborne and Nina Robinson caused opposing front courts issues all season long. Osborne shot 60.1 percent from the field, third-highest in the NJCAA and averaged 13.7 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.4 blocks.

Robinson was just as dominant in the paint, recording 16 points and 12.2 rebounds per contest and shooting 54.2 percent.

Getting the nod on the second team was freshman Alyson Reid. One of the Warriors top defenders, Reid also contributed offensively netting 8.8 points per game.

Daja Polk rounds out the all-region selections for Massasoit in 2018-19. The sophomore transfer only played the second half of the season, but produced, averaging 18.2 points, 4.8 steals, 4.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 11 games played.

During the regular season, both Robinson and Hargrove earned NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week honors.
