BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Mark Georges sank four clutch free throws as the Massasoit men's basketball team closed out the final 1:50 of the game on a 17-5 run to defeat Quinsigamond 69-57 on Thursday night.
Georges finished with a team-high 19 points, which featured a 13 of 16 night at the free throw line to improve the Warriors to 8-4 on the year.
The contest was a slugfest as the Wyverns led 23-22 at the half.
Following intermission, the Warriors received a spark from Jovani Harper-Lopez (Randolph) draining a trio of 3-pointers, as he scored all 10 of his points in the second half before fouling out.
Mark Munroe (Quincy) finished a double-double, pulling down 20 boards paired with 16 points.
Massasoit finished 30 for 46 at the foul line, 20 for 32 in the second half.
