Sierra Johnson Claims NJCAA National Player of the Week Award

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Sophomore Sierra Johnson (Brockton) was named NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week, for her efforts in Massasoit sporting a 2-1 record last week.

Johnson produced plenty of offense, averaging 30 points per game as the Warriors earned victories against Bristol and Bunker Hill. She also averaged 6.6 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 3.6 steals per game and made 26 of 35 free throw attempts.

In a career-high 31-point effort at Bunker Hill, Johnson scored 22 of her points in the first half and finished 10 of 22 from the floor.

Johnson becomes the first Massasoit women's basketball player to earn the NJCAA POTW award since Fredi Lawson on Feb. 19, 2014.

The Warriors host Springfield Tech on Saturday at 1 PM.
