Massasoit Women's Basketball Wins Sixth In Row

HOLYOKE, Mass. ---- Five players scored in double figures as the Massasoit CC women's basketball team dominated Holyoke CC from start to finish en route to claiming its sixth straight win with a 82-39 victory on Tuesday night.

Massasoit dropped its first three games to start the 2013-14 campaign, but has caught fire winning its last six contests to own a 6-3 record on the season.

"We really have been playing well as a team over this win streak," head coach Mark Brathwaite said. "Tonight I can't even point out one individual that played better than the rest because everyone contributed. We shared the basketball, moved without the ball. It was a great team win in our first game since the break."

Fredi Lawson (Boston/J.E. Burke HS) led the Warriors, pouring in 18 points. Tianna Johnson (Brockton/New Mission HS) posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists, while Tianna McQueen (Mattapan/Boston English HS) and Cynara Rustin (Brockton/Minutemen Regional) chipped in with 14 and 12 respectively.

The Warriors jumped out the gate early and used three consecutive 3-pointers from Marina Palladino (Carver/Carver HS) to take a 52-18 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

Palladino contributed 11 points in the win, while Ashley Andrade (Randolph/Randolph HS) put in nine points of her own.
