TAUNTON, Mass. ---- Bryant & Stratton netted a pair of early goals en route to defeating the Massasoit Community College men's soccer team, 8-2, on Saturday afternoon at Taunton Eagles Field.

Massasoit (5-3-2) fell behind 2-0 in the contest's first five minutes, with the second goal coming on a penalty kick.

"We were just not into the game mentally," head coach Rui Estrela said. "We made awful decisions on both ends of the field by our starters and we were just playing with no emotion."

Trailing 4-0 at halftime, the Warriors were able to net a couple of second half goals off the feet of Stephan Teixeira (Brockton) and Julio Gomes (Brockton). Unfortunately that would be all Massasoit could tally, as Bryant & Stratton tacked on four more goals after intermission.

"The only bright side was that our subs had a heck of an impact off the bench in the last 15 minutes. We got great efforts from John Corr (Brockton) and Stephan Teixeira, who both really worked hard during the game," Estrela said.

The Warriors host CCRI on Wednesday on the Brockton Campus. The game is set for 3:30 p.m.
