Massasoit Men's Soccer Prevails Over AIC JV Team, 3-0

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit Community College men's soccer team took a 2-0 lead into halftime and held on to prevail by a final of 3-0 against the American International College JV squad in a hard fought contest on Friday afternoon.

Massasoit (8-5-2) received its first goal in the 24th minute from Joel Lobo (Brockton) who took a through ball pass from midfielder Edmar Vieira (Brockton).

Just over 10 minutes later, the Warriors would strike again, as Mark Mackenzie (Swansea) came off the bench and connected for a goal on an over the top pass from Michael Damotta-Santos (Taunton).

Following intermission, Massasoit would tack on another goal, this time from Ruben Varela (Brockton) from Lobo in the 54th minute of action to round out the scoring.

In goal for Massasoit, Torrey Medeiros pitched a shutout in net, making a pair of saves in the victory.

The Warriors will take the weekend off and return to the pitch on Tuesday with a home contest against Roxbury CC at 3:30 p.m.
