BOSTON ---- Trey Jones poured in a career-high 40 points, 31 coming in the first half, as the Massasoit men's basketball team picked up a crucial 95-68 victory at Bunker Hill on Tuesday night.

Massasoit (10-11, 10-10) is fighting for one of four spots in the Massachusetts Community College Athletic Conference Tournament, hosted in Brockton this Saturday and Sunday.

The Warriors will play again Wednesday night in a must win at Quinsigamond CC.

Jones scored the team's first eight points en route to 31 in the first half. He finished 14-for-28 from the field, featuring 6-of-13 from 3-point range. The sophomore guard outscored the Bulldogs in the opening half, as the Warriors led 57-22 at the break.

Leland Jackson and Jahleel Moise also each reached double figures, netting 18 and 15 points respectively. Moise nearly recorded a triple-double, corralling 11 rebounds and swatting eight shots, while Jackson made 7-of-11 attempts and pulled down eight boards.

In total, nine Warriors ended the night in the scoring column, as Massasoit shot a blistering 57.4 percent (39-for-68) from the floor. The Warriors distributed the ball, totaling 18 team assists, 11 coming from point guard William Baker.
