Men's Basketball Tops Roxbury In Overtime

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Antonio Ferreira (Stoughton/Stoughton HS) netted eight of his 19 points in overtime to help lead the Massasoit men's basketball team to a 77-70 overtime victory against Roxbury CC on Thursday.

Massasoit (4-4) received 19 points from Chris Green (Taunton/Bridgton Academy), 14 from Trey Jones (Mattapan/Reading HS) and 10 from Anthony Conway (Boston/Walpole HS). Jones (10 assists) and Conway (15 rebounds) each recorded double-doubles in the second victory of the week for the Warriors.

Trey Jones hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with under one minute to play in the game, but Roxbury's Ashton Bennett responded with a trey of his own to tie the score at 61-all. Jones' halfcourt heave at the buzzer hit the back rim and the game went to overtime.

In the extra period is where Ferreira went to work. The forward made a pair of baskets and went a perfect 4-for-4 at the charity stripe to give the Warriors to overtime victory.
