BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Three Warriors scored 18 or more points on Thursday night, but it was not enough as the Massasoit men's basketball team fell to Dean College, 96-70.

Trey Jones (Mattapan) led Massasoit (0-1) with 21 points and dished out a team-high seven assists. Antonio Fereira (Stoughton) added a double-double, pouring in 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Chris Green (Tauton) added 20 points of his own to the box score.

The Warriors battled right with the Bulldogs, until the visiting squad started to pull away at the end of the first half. Dean led 48-34 at the break.

In the second half, turnovers continued to doom the home squad as Massasoit committed a total of 28 miscues in the loss.

Overall, the Warriors shot well from 2-point range, making 50 percent of their attempts (23-for-46). From beyond the arc is where Massasoit struggled, connecting on just 3 of 27 shots.
