Massasoit Community College is proud to welcome Paris Amado as the institution's first-ever Coordinator of Athletics in June 2025. In this newly created role, Amado will serve as the primary liaison between student-athletes and the broader Massasoit community. He will support student-athletes as they navigate their academic and athletic journeys at Massasoit, while also helping guide them toward success in their next chapter beyond the college.

A dynamic leader with a proven commitment to student-athlete development, Amado brings more than eight years of experience in higher education and athletic administration to this role.

A former student-athlete and proud graduate of the junior college system himself, Amado understands firsthand the transformative power of community college athletics. During his collegiate basketball career, he earned national recognition by receiving the prestigious Arthur Ashe Jr. Award and leading the nation in assists. As team captain, he helped lead his squad to a state championship, regional championship, and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament.

Amado's professional journey has been defined by his unwavering dedication to the holistic development of student-athletes—academically, athletically, and personally. In his roles as both advisor and administrator, he has empowered countless students to excel not just on the court, but in the classroom and in their communities.

"My mission is clear: to inspire the next generation of leaders through sport, mentorship, and opportunity," said Amado. "I'm beyond honored to return to the junior college level not just as a coach or mentor, but as a leader with a vision. My journey started in a place just like this. Now, I'm here to give back, build, and push our student-athletes to become champions in life."

Amado is a graduate of UMass Amherst (Class of 2012) and earned his graduate degree from Northeastern University in 2017. He currently resides in Brockton, Massachusetts.
