Four Warriors Named to All-Region 21 Volleyball Teams

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit women's volleyball team placed four student-athletes on the NJCAA All-Region 21 teams, recently announced by the conference office.

The Warriors, which won the Region 21 Championship and advanced to the Northeast District Tournament, placed two players on the first team, Emmanuella Paul (Brockton) and Delaney Nagel (Stoughton).  Caroline Curits (Holbrook) earned second team accolades and Colleen Luongo (Plymouth) was an honorable mention selection.

Emmanuella Paul served as the team's setter for the Warriors, dishing out a region-high 370 for the season, for a 5.44 assists per set average. The Haiti native finished second overall in service aces (56) and third in the region in digs (143). She also tallied five double-doubles, including a 23-assist, 14-dig effort in the Region 21 Final victory vs Northern Essex.

Delaney Nagel was a force in the front line in Green and White. She topped the region in hitting percentage (.350) and finished second in the league in total kills (168) and total points (205.5) for the year. She produced three matches with double digit kills, including a 20-kill performance at Holyoke CC during the regular season.

Caroline Curtis produced a solid all-around season for the Warriors, filling up the box score in a number of categories. The Holbrook native finished second in the region in digs (150), third in aces (54), ninth in kills (61) and total points (115). In a district tournament game vs Fashion Institute of Technology, Curtis corralled a career-high 26 digs in the five-set loss to the Tigers.

Rounding out the quartet of award winners was outside hitter Colleen Luongo. The outside hitter ranked fourth in the region in aces (48), fifth in kills (97), sixth in points (145) and seventh in digs (84). At the Region 21 Tournament, Luongo totaled 15 kills and 12 aces over the two matches.
