BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Sophomore Anya Welch-Batstone (Avon) posted her sixth career hattrick as the Massasoit women's soccer team blanked Springfield Tech, 6-0, on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.

During a four-minute span, from the 15th to the 18th minute of action, the Warriors found the back of the net four times to take control of the game early in the first half.

Felisberta Tavares (Brockton) also notched a pair of goals and Becca Chandler of Marshfield recorded a goal and three assists in the victory.

Shelby Newcomb of Whitman and Stefania Dos Santos of Brockton each made a save in net to combine for the clean sheet.

Following her three-goal effort on Saturday, Welch-Batstone now has 41 goals and 96 total points. She is looking to be the first Massasoit women's soccer student-athlete to reach the 100-point plateau since Shelby Sprague did in 2016. 

The Warriors host NHTI on Monday at 3:30 PM.
