Chandler's Late Goal Lifts Women's Soccer Past Springfield Tech, 3-2
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ---- Freshman Rebecca Chandler (Marshfield) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute to lead the Massasoit women's soccer team by Springfield Tech, 3-2.
STCC took an early lead, netting the game's first goal in just the fifth minute of action.
The Warriors (2-1) would respond, as Anya Welch-Batstone (Avon) and Dinedia Gomes (Brockton) each found the back of the net to give Massasoit a 2-1 advantage at the break.
In the 81st minute, the Rams scored the equalizer, before Chandler quickly responded with the game winner.
Massasoit finished with 39 total shots, 14 coming on net.
The Warriors host Bunker Hill on Tuesday at 4 PM.
