Women’s Soccer Falls at NHTI, 5-1

CONCORD, N.H. ---- The Massasoit women's soccer team fell on the road at undefeated NHTI, 5-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

NHTI (11-0-1) scored 14:16 into the game to take the early lead, but Massasoit's (4-7-1) Alexandra Santos (Hanson) responded 13 seconds later by netting her team-high 13th goal to even up the score.  

The Lynx took the lead for good in the 30th minute off a deep shot by Alexis Duclos just under the crossbar as NHTI held a 2-1 lead at intermission. The home squad added three insurance goals in the second half to round out the scoring on the afternoon.

Massasoit keeper Laura Nieske (Watertown) made eight saves in net.

NHTI has allowed just six goals all season, three being scored by Massasoit in the two meetings in 2017.

The Warriors host Springfield Tech on Saturday in a pivotal matchup with playoff implications at Warrior Field with kickoff set for 1 PM.
