NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. ---- The Massasoit women's soccer team scored a pair of goals in each half, two coming from Krista Woodworth (Norton), as the Warriors defeated Monroe College JV, 4-0, on Monday afternoon.

Massasoit (6-6) received a stellar offensive game from Woodworth, who took part in all four of the team's goals, finding the back of the net twice and dishing out a pair of assists.

In addition, the Warriors received excellent play from keeper Kelly Cronin (Weymouth) as the freshman made three saves for the team's fifth shutout of the season.

In the 17th minute, the Warriors netted their first goal as Mariella McEachern (Marshfield) scored by rifling a shot just outside the 18-yard box off a pass from Woodworth. Roughly 20 minutes later, Woodworth scored off a Shelby Sprague (Stoughton) pass as Massasoit went to the locker room up 2-0.

The score stayed 2-0 until the 77th minute when Sprague took a through ball from Woodworth for a goal. The goal marked the 47th of her career with the Warriors.

Woodworth tacked on her second goal of the game in the 83rd minute off a pass from Taylor Coletti (Whitman).

Massasoit outshot Monroe 19-7, with eight of the Warriors shots coming on net.
