Holyoke Bests Women's Soccer, 3-0

HOLYOKE, Mass. ---- The Massasoit women's soccer team played right with Holyoke CC on Saturday, but ran out of gas, falling on the road 3-0 to the Cougars at O'Connell Field.

Massasoit (1-3) trailed 1-0 at the break, as Holyoke used a quick strike by Reily Jodoin in the 13th minute of action.

The goal from Jodoin was all the high-powered Cougar offense could muster against the Warrior defense and goalie Kelly Cronin (Weymouth) in the opening stanza.

Following intermission, the Warriors played bend but not break defense, until Holyoke found the back of the net in the 64th and 70th minutes of action thanks to goals from sisters Jennifer Galindo and Natalie Galindo.

Cronin finished with 10 saves in net, as HCC rifled off 29 shots for the game.

Shelby Sprague (Stoughton) paced the Warriors with with five shots for the match.

The Warriors travel to CCRI on Tuesday for a 4 PM contest.
