CONCORD, N.H. ---- Shelby Sprague (Stoughton) and Mariellea McEachern (Marshfield) each scored their first goals of the season, but NHTI proved to be too much claiming the season opener over the Massasoit women's soccer team, 9-2.
Massasoit was unable to slow down the potent Lynx offense, that netted eight first half goals, to lead comfortably 8-2 at intermission.
Sprague's first half goal marked the 26th of her career at Massasoit, after netting 25 during her freshman campaign. The goal came on an assist from fellow sophomore Steph Collyer (Rockland).
Kelly Cronin (Weymouth) made 11 saves in net in the loss.
