BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Krista Woodworth (Norton) nearly doubled her season goal total last week en route to earning National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Junior College Player of the Week.
Woodworth netted three goals in two matches as the freshman midfielder had scored four goals on the season.
The Norton native netted two crucial goals in a win against the Monroe College JV team. Leading just 1-0 at the half, Woodworth netted the team's first two goals after intermission to jumpstart the teams as the Warriors went on to win in convincing fashion, 8-0. In a tough 2-1 loss to Dean College, Woodworth scored the team's lone goal off a header in the first half.
She finished the week with 10 shots, six coming on goal and three finding the back of the net.
For the season, Woodworth ranks second on the team in goals (9), assists (10) and points (28) for the season.
