WHY MASSASOIT WON: Kayla Gomes took the wind out of BHCC's sails early, scoring just 25 seconds into the match. From then on, the Warriors' attacking style and strong defensive play was too much for the visiting Bulldogs.
GOALS FOR GOMES: Gomes posted her fifth multi-goal game of the season after netting a pair in Monday's victory. The Halifax native now leads Region XXI and ranks third amongst all NJCAA Division III players with 16 goals on the season.
SWEEPER SETS UP TEAMMATES: Haley Wells, the starting sweeper for Massasoit, finished with a goal and two assists vs. BHCC. Her first assist was on a free kick when she booted a pass up the sideline that Gomes finished to put the Warriors up 2-0. Her second helper came on a cross to Arnold for the fifth and final goal of the day for the Green and White.
NEXT UP: On Thursday, Massasoit will host rival Holyoke CC at 4 p.m.
