BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Three Warriors scored multiple goals as the Massasoit women's soccer team breezed by Bristol CC, 9-1, on Thursday afternoon.

The win propels Massasoit to 4-2 overall and winners of four straight matches. In addition the Warriors are 3-0 against Region XXI squads.

Kayla Gomes continued her scoring streak, putting away a career-high four goals and adding an assist in the victory. Zhandali Fontes (Taunton) scored twice and set up two goals, Haley Wells (Whitman) found the back of the net twice and Shauna Fitzpatrick (Whitman) rounded out the goal scoring for the Warriors.

Massasoit held a 7-0 lead at the half.

Bristol broke through in the 60th minute when Tori Borges scored off a rebound from a penalty kick.

MULTI-GOAL PERFORMERS: For the first time this season, the Warriors posted three players with multiple goals. Haley Wells recorded her first two-goal game of her career in the win, while Kayla Gomes finished with four and Zhandali Fontes with two.

GOMES' GOAL STREAK IN TACT: Kayla Gomes kept her goal streak going, scoring for the sixth straight game. The freshman now has a team-best 13 goals on the season.

SHUTOUT STREAK SNAPPED: Massasoit allowed it's first goal in 348 minutes when Bristol scored in the 60th minute. Cinthia Pires (Brockton) saved a penalty kick, but the rebound was put in for the first goal allowed since Sept. 6 vs. Essex County.

NEXT UP: Massasoit travels to divisional rival Holyoke CC on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
