Fourth Quarter Scoring Frenzy Lifts No. 3 Massasoit Past Bristol, 104-70

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The No. 3 Massasoit women's basketball program outscored Bristol 33-14 in the fourth quarter to capture a 104-70 victory on Monday evening at the Peter Asiaf Field House.

The Warriors remained undefeated with the win, improving to 6-0 on the season and host CCRI on Wednesday at 5:30 PM.

Massasoit got off to slow start as the Bayhawks hung right with Warriors, until a late spurt to close out the first quarter.

Trailing 45-35 at the half, the Bayhawks stayed within striking distance entering the fourth.

In the fourth, however, the Massasoit potent offense exploded, outscoring Bristol 33-14 in the frame as Ty Hawkins and Aliza Bell each netted 10 points apiece in the quarter.

Hawkins kept her scoring prowess rolling, netting a game-high 43 points on 18 of 35 shooting from the floor. The Brentwood, N.Y., native added 14 rebounds and eight assists.

Adrianna Grant of Brentwood, N.Y., (20 points, 16 rebounds) and Aliza Bell of Stonington, Conn., (12 points, 14 rebounds) each posted double-doubles in the victory.

Shardajah Collins of Winter Haven, Fla., scored 17 points and added nine rebounds, Ranasha Fraizer (New Haven, Conn.) chipped in with seven points and 10 boards and Alyson Reid (Boston) filled up the box score with five points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and five steals for the Warriors.

Massasoit finished with 74 rebounds, 32 coming on the offensive glass and forced Bristol into 21 turnovers.

The Warrior offense reached the century point total for the fifth-straight contest, averaging 111.7 per game for the season.

Bristol was paced on offense by Jayden Fortin's 24 points.
