BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Sophomore Ty Hawkins (Brentwood, N.Y.) produced a stellar week, averaging more than 40 points per game as the shooting guard was named NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Hawkins, a transfer, averaged 42.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 7.0 steals, 5.0 assists and shot a blistering 72.5 percent from the floor in a pair of victories for Massasoit.

In a contest at Roxbury, the sophomore shot an incredible 20 of 26 from the floor on her way to a game-high 42 points.

On the season, Hawkins has scored 37 or more points in all five games thus far and leads the NJCAA in scoring average at 41.0 per game.
