BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The streak of consecutive weeks ranked No. 1 for the Massasoit women's basketball team reached six as the Warriors remained at the top of the NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball rankings, recently announced by the national office.

Massasoit has enjoyed a remarkable season under first-year head coach Mark Leszczyk as the Warriors boast an overall record of 16-1 and an undefeated 11-0 mark against Region 21 opponents in 2018-19.

To date, Massasoit ranks in the top-10 nationally in several team statistical categories, featuring fewest points allowed per game (41.3/1st), rebounding margin (+31.2/1st), points per game (89.4/2nd), rebounds per game (54.6/2nd) and field goal percentage (48.9%/2nd).

All eight student-athletes on the team are averaging 8.2 points per game or higher, with six averaging in double figures.

The Warriors played only one game last week, defeating Springfield Tech CC with ease, 99-36.

The next game for Massasoit is at Roxbury on Tuesday slated for 5:30 PM.
