Johnson Twins Lead Warriors to Upset Victory vs CCRI, 56-49

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- In their final home game, sophomore twins Sienna Johnson and Sierra Johnson made it a memorable one, combining to score 44 points as the Massasoit women's basketball team upset CCRI 56-49 on Wednesday night at the Asiaf Field House.

With the victory, Massasoit improved to 7-12 overall and is off until the MCCAC State Tournament hosted by Springfield Tech CC on Feb. 24-25 in Springfield, Mass.

The win also proved to be important for the NJCAA Region 21 Tournament, hosted by Bunker Hill CC on March 3-4, as the victory vs CCRI secured Massasoit the No. 3 seed by way of a tiebreaker.

Sierra Johnson (Brockton) poured in a game-high 26 points and went 12 for 15 at the foul line, while Sienna Johnson scored 18 points in the victory.

Courtney Foley (Holbrook) chipped in with nine points for the Warriors.

For Massasoit, the foul line proved to be the difference in the game as the Warriors finished 24 of 31 (77.1 percent) on the night. The Knights went 7-for-13 at the line.

CCRI (16-11) was led by Kelsey Hernandez's 11 points.
