SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ---- The Massasoit women's basketball team exploded for 51 points in the second half to top Springfield Tech on the road, 82-57, on Saturday afternoon.
Leading 31-22 at the break, the Warriors put up 26 points in the third quarter and 25 more in the fourth, improving their record to 6-9 overall and 5-4 in league play.
Courtney Foley (Holbrook) led five Warriors in double figures, pouring in a game high 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting. The sophomore also went 4-of-7 from downtown and added five assists and four steals to her stat line.
Twin sisters Sienna Johnson and Sierra Johnson of Brockton each netted 19 points, Jakiyah Jones-Robinson (Holbrook) scored 12 and Duxbury's Karen Snow chipped in with a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds).
The Massasoit defense forced STCC (8-9, 5-5) into committing 22 turnovers.
The victory for the Warriors avenged a 62-57 loss to the Rams back on Nov. 18.
