BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Second year student-athlete Tiana McQueen of the Massasoit women's basketball team was named to the Division III Region XXI Honorable Mention squad recently announced by the regional office.
McQueen (Mattapan) started all 16 games for the Warriors and led the team in points (16.3), rebounds (13.6) and blocks (3.8) per game. She totaled 13 double-doubles and pulled down at least 10 rebounds in 15 of 16 games.
In addition, the 5-foot-10 sophomore scored in double figures in 14 of 16 games and led the team in field goals made (110) and shooting percentage (43.1).
In her sophomore season, McQueen produced several memorable performances. Back on Dec. 6 against Quinsigamond CC, she recorded her first career triple-double totaling 13 points and career-high totals of 24 rebounds and 12 blocks.
She netted a career-best 31 points against UCAP on Jan. 24, before hitting a game-winning jumper against Lincoln College on Feb. 12.
