HOLYOKE, Mass. ---- The Massasoit women's basketball team fought hard, but came up short on the road to Holyoke CC, 47-33 on Saturday.
In a back-and-forth contest, Massasoit hung right with the Cougars up until three minutes remaining in regulation. Warrior post player Tiana McQueen (Boston) fouled out at the three-minute mark forcing Massasoit to play with just four players the rest of the way.
Down a player and trailing by just six points, Massasoit could get no closer as the home Cougars captured the 47-33 victory.
McQueen finished with her third double-double in as many games with 23 points and 11 rebounds. The sophomore finished 10-for-20 from the field and added four blocks.
Stephanie Robbins (Marshfield) chipped in with six points, three rebounds and three assists in the loss.
