Fan Appreciation Day A Big Success

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- On Saturday, February 8, Massasoit held its annual Fan Appreciation Day during a men's and women's basketball doubleheader against the Community College of Rhode Island.

Joining the entertainment of the basketball games during the afternoon, included halftime knockout competitions between kids, free food and drinks and scrimmages by the West Bridgewater boys and girls middle school teams.

"It was a great turnout for Fan Appreciation Day," Athletics Director Julie Mulvey said. "I think not only did the fans have a fun time rooting on the Warriors, but the student-athletes really appreciated the support."

Athletes from other teams at Massasoit teamed up with parents and helped by volunteering to hand out food and prizes throughout the games.

In addition, both games were broadcasted on the radio by 95.9 FM WATD locally in the South Shore area. Guests on the air included President Dr. Charles Wall, Mayor Bill Carpenter and Massasoit Athletics Director Julie Mulvey during the game action.

"It was a great chance for the school to promote athletics and give back to our fans and community," Mulvey said. "It was a great event and we look forward to doing more things like this down the road."
