CHARLESTOWN, Mass. ---- Fredi Lawson (Boston/J.E. Burke HS) and Tianna Johnson (Brockton/New Mission HS) each totaled double-doubles as the Massasoit women's basketball team topped Bunker Hill CC, 64-54, on Tuesday night.

Massasoit ended a two-game losing streak, improving to 11-6 on the season.

"The difference today was our defensive effort and the ability to force turnovers," head coach Mark Brathwaite said. "Our defense and Tianna Johnson's ability to control the game both offensively and defensively as our point guard were major reasons why we came away with a win."

Johnson, who is the nation's leader in assists averaging 7.9 per game, finished with 12 helpers and 10 steals. She added four points to her stat line.

Lawson poured in a team-high 25 points and pulled down a team-best 14 rebounds. Ashley Andrade (Randolph) added 14 points, eight rebounds and five steals, while Marina Palladino (Carver) chipped in with 10 points.
