MANCHESTER, N.H. ---- The Massasoit CC softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to New Hampshire Technical Institute, falling 14-2 and 13-0 on Sunday.
Game 1: NHTI 14, Massasoit 2
Massasoit scored twice in the top of the first, but NHTI responded with eight in the bottom half of the inning to cruise to the 14-2 victory.
Marrissa Spivey (Brockton) and Kelsey Whiting (Sharon) each knocked in runs for the Warriors.
Whiting took the loss on the mound. The freshman right-hander struck out six in four innings of work.
Game 2: NHTI 13, Massasoit 0
NHTI used another big first inning, which proved to be too much for the visiting Warriors in game two, falling 13-0.
Pamela Falcon (Holbrook) and Kelly Cronin (Weymouth) each recorded hits for Massasoit.
