BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit men's and women's track & field teams will be represented at the upcoming 2019 NJCAA National Championships, hosted by Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, N.Y. from May 9-11.

It marks Massasoit's sixth-straight trip to Nationals after starting the program back in 2014.

The Warriors will send three student-athletes under first-year head coach Dacia Samuels, with Angelo Monsini (Plymouth) and Lorenzo Espinoza (Stoughton) representing the men and Sofia Cameron (East Bridgewater) representing the women.

Monsini produced a tremendous freshman campaign in the sprint events, qualifying for Nationals in the 100- and 200-meter races. The Plymouth native clocked the 19th-fastest time in the 100, cracking the top-10 in school history at 11.44 seconds in the event.

In the 200m, Monsini recorded the second-fastest in school history at UMass-Dartmouth this season, posting a time of 23.14 seconds. His time sits 20th amongst NJCAA Division III qualifiers.

Espinoza moved up to third in program lore in triple jump distance, with his best length registering 12.48 meters (40-11.5) also at UMass-Dartmouth. His career-best jump ranks 13th in the NJCAA rankings in 2019 as the Stoughton native makes his second consecutive trip to Nationals in the event.

Sofia Cameron rounds out the Utica-bound group, as the freshman took part in a slew of long-distance events in her first season donning the Green and White. Cameron broke the school record in both the 1,500- and 10,000-meter events and her career-best time in the 10k of 55:53.14 ranks seventh in the NJCAA this season.
