BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit CC men's and women's track & field teams will compete in the Jim Sheehan Memorial Meet hosted by Fitchburg State on Saturday. The meet will feature over 50 teams, primarily NCAA Division III programs and three NJCAA squads.

The Warriors are coming off an impressive opening meet at Bridgewater State last Saturday despite some cold and damp conditions. In total, Massasoit posted five NJCAA National Championship cut times/distances, set four school records and tallied seven individual top-10 performances.

"We are looking forward to competing in some warmer temps on Saturday, despite the possibility of rain looming in the forecast," head coach Matt Jordan said. "Our 4x100 relay team is looking to improve on its time as is all our student-athletes. I think we got a lot of the jitters out in the first meet and are really looking forward to getting after it again on Saturday. There will be a lot of colleges and club teams there so hopefully we put forth a strong effort overall."

The last time Massasoit was at Fitchburg State, the Warriors set a school record in the 4x100 of 45.66 seconds and Mitchell Vaughn posted a school-best 17'3.5" distance in the long jump.

Following the first week of NJCAA outdoor track & field, Massasoit has seven times/distances ranked in the top-10 nationally.

Below is a list of the current individual rankings:
