NEW ORLEANS ---- Massasoit's Alex MacMillan (Brockton) was recently named a United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NJCAA Division III All-American for his efforts in the javelin during the 2015 National Championship.

The USTFCCA All-American award for MacMillan is the first in Massasoit's track and field program history.

As a freshman, MacMillan set numerous individual records for the Warriors, most notably in the javelin. The Brockton native broke his own school record at the NJCAA Nationals, recording a personal-best toss of 161 feet, four inches (49.18 meters) to earn fifth place in the event.

MacMillan's fifth place finish was the highest in program history at the NJCAA Nationals en route to earning Massasoit's first-ever medal.

For the 2015 season, MacMillan set three individual school records, including: javelin (161-4), 200-meter (22.57) and high jump (6-0). In addition, he was also a member of the school record 4x100m relay team (45.66).
