Strong Start Leads Men's Soccer to 6-1 Victory vs Roxbury

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Leonardo Teixeira and Mivando Alves each netted two goals and Esteven Gomes added a goal and three assists as the Massasoit men's soccer team started strong to defeat Roxbury, 6-1 on Monday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Massasoit (10-6-1) built up a 4-0 halftime lead, which proved to more than enough to hold off the visiting Roxbury Tigers (10-2), which dropped just their second match of the 2019 season.

Teixeira scored twice and Aiden Sprague and Alves each scored in the first half.

Following intermission, Alves scored again and Gomes accounted for Massasoit's sixth and final goal on the afternoon.

David Isaac made five saves in net in the victory.

Massasoit hosts CCRI on Wednesday, with a chance to capture the Region 21 Championship. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM.
