KANSAS CITY, Mo. ---- For the second consecutive week and third time this year a Massasoit men's soccer player has earned the United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week honors, with freshman forward Charlie Swann (England) being named the winner on Tuesday.
Swann posted a pair of hat tricks last week as Massasoit finished with a perfect 2-0 record. All six of Swann's shots on goal found the back of the net, with five of the six goals coming prior to halftime of each respected game. In a victory against MassBay, Swann scored all three of his goals in the first 16 minutes of action.
He now has a team-best 18 goals on the season and has posted five multi-goal performances in 2017.
Swann joins midfielder Leon Zaffonato (Brazil) and goalie Wilson Fernandes (Cape Verde) as previous USC weekly award winners this season.
