BROCKTON, Mass. ---- A bevy of late second half goals, including the game-winner in the 90th minute gave the visiting Monroe Community College Tribunes a 3-2 victory at Massasoit in men's soccer action on Saturday.

Knotted up 2-2, Monroe CC (2-2-1) forward Kevin Kabongo took a pass at midfield and sprung free for a breakaway, finding the back of the net with just 29 seconds left for the game-winning goal.

Massasoit (1-2) struck first in a nip-and-tuck affair, scoring the seventh minute of action. Off a free kick, Camnagha Namusse (Guinea-Bissau) passed a through ball to David DePina (Cape Verde), who one-timed a cross that was headed home by Bruno Martins (Cape Verde/Brockton HS).

The Warriors held the 1-0 lead at the half.

After intermission, Monroe CC evened up the game when Cameron Welling connected off a rebound in front of the net in the 57th minute.

The final 12 minutes saw plenty of action as a total of three goals were scored.

Martins would give the Warriors the lead again, when he rocketed in a DePina cross in the 79th minute.

Unfortunately, the one-goal advantage was short lived as less than two minutes later, the Tribunes scored again off a rebound to bring the game square at 2-2.

The game remained knotted until Kabongo's game-winning breakaway in the contest's 90th minute.

The Tribunes outshot the Warriors 21-15.

Massasoit hosts American International College JV team on Wednesday at 4 PM.
