KANSAS CITY, Mo. ---- Massasoit men's soccer goalie Wilson Fernandes was named United Soccer Coaches Junior College Player of the Week for his efforts in net last weekend.
In his first start of the 2017 season, the sophomore made a career-high 12 saves for the Warriors. The most important saves for the Picos, Cape Verde native came in the first half when Fernandes stopped a pair of penalty kicks to help preserve a 2-1 road victory at Bergen Community College.
The win marked the first of the season for the Warriors (1-1), which hosts Monroe Community College on Saturday at 1 PM in Brockton.
