Cardoso Nets Hat Trick To Beat Bristol, 6-0

FALL RIVER, Mass. ---- Sidney Cardoso (Portugal) continued his recent torrid stretch, netting a hat trick in the first half to lead the Massasoit men's soccer team to a 6-0 victory at Bristol CC.

The victory closes out the regular season for the Warriors on a high note, ending the year 11-5 overall and 7-2 in league play. Massasoit will now await a highly anticipated Region 21 Championship against rival Dean College on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. in Franklin, Mass.

Cardoso now has 14 goals on the season, with nine coming in the last three matches. The freshman forward has netted a goal in seven of the previous eight games for the Warriors.

After the first half, Jose Erazo (Hyannis/Barnstable HS) put one away, followed by two goals from forward Andrew Revanales (Trinidad/Sharon HS). Revanales upped his team-high goal total to 18.

Massasoit has now won nine of the last 10 matches, with the lone defeat coming on the road to Dean College on Oct. 14. Over the last 10 games, the Warriors have outscored the competition 56-8 over that stretch.

Edmilson Xavier (Brockton) made three saves to post the shutout. Massasoit now has eight total clean sheets on the season.
