NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. ---- The top-ranked team in NJCAA Division I, Monroe College, defeated the Massasoit men's soccer team, 5-1, on Saturday night at City Park.
Massasoit (2-4) fell behind early on a goal by Monroe in the 10th minute of action. However, the Warriors responded, knotting the game at 1-1 when Elvis Andrade (Brockton/Penn Foster HS (Pa.)) headed home a cross from Andrew Revanales (Trinidad/Sharon HS) just three minutes later
Unfortunately, that was all the scoring the Warriors would do against the Mustangs as they only managed two shots on net for the match.
Monroe College (5-0-1) responded with a goals in the 35th and 37th minutes to own a commanding 3-1 lead at the half.
The Mustangs tacked on two more goals in the second half to round out the scoring.
