SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ---- Stephan Teixeira (Brockton) came off the bench to net the game-winning goal in the game's final five minutes as the Massasoit men's soccer team earned a 2-1 come-from-behind victory vs. the AIC JV team on Sunday.

Massasoit (7-4) trailed 1-0 at the half, but came back to capture its third win in a row.

Teixeira, a sophomore, who had missed the last six games due to injury, set up the game tying goal in the 55th minute of action. The midfielder crossed a pass to Massasoit's leading goal scorer, Joel Lobo (Brockton), who knotted the game at 1-1.

In the 85th minute, William Neves (Brockton) rifled a shot that was saved by the AIC goalkeeper, but Teixeira crashed the net to put away the rebound for what proved to be the game winner in the 2-1 victory.

Massasoit outshot AIC, 23-9 overall, as Lobo led the team with 10 shots on the afternoon.

Andre Reis made four stops in goal for the Warriors.

"I thought we played very well," head coach Rui Estrela said. "In the first half we made a few slight mistakes that threw us off balance. But, the second half might have been our best half of soccer all season. It was great to comeback and get the win against a very good AIC team."

THREE IN A ROW: Massasoit is now currently on a three-match win streak, the longest of the 2014 season. Over the last three victories, the Warriors have outscored the opposition 11-3.
