WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. ---- Joel Lobo (Brockton) and Telmo Barbosa (Brockton) each netted second half goals to push the Massasoit men's soccer team by Williams College JV, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon.

Massasoit (3-2) and Williams were deadlocked, 1-1, at intermission. The Warriors' goal came on a penalty kick from Julio Gomes (Brockton), his first of the season.

Lobo and Barbosa's goals put Massasoit up 3-1 with just over 20 minutes to play in the contest. Williams would tack on a late goal, but the Warriors would hang on for the one-goal victory.

WHY MASSASOIT WON: Head coach Rui Estrela said the difference in the game was a simple one word answer – energy.

"We started the game off really slow. In the second half we really picked up our energy level," Estrela said. "We realized we needed to get our energy level up against some very good competition in Williams. I think in the second half we took control and the turned the game around in our favor."

LOBO ADDS TO POINT TOTAL: Joel Lobo added to his team-high point total with a goal and an assist. Lobo set up Barbosa's second half goal. For the season, the Brockton native has five goals and two assists for 12 total points.

WARRIORS GO 3-1 ON THE WEEK: Massasoit played four games in seven days, posting a record of 3-1 during that stretch. The Warriors defeated MassBay, CCRI and Williams JV with the loss coming by one goal to Monroe CC on the road.
