Warriors Drain 14 3-Pointers to Defeat Quinsigamond, 77-53

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit men's basketball team buried 14 3-pointers, nine coming from freshman Nathaniel Semedo, and the Warriors played an aggressive second half defensively to close out the fall semester with a 77-53 victory vs Quinsigamond at the Peter Asiaf Field House.

The Warriors (3-6) trailed 33-28 at the half, despite 17 first half points by Semedo.

In the second half, it was all Massasoit, as the Warriors drained 10 3s after intermission and outscored the Wyverns 49-20 in the final stanza.

Semedo finished with a career-high 34 points on 12 of 19 shooting, including going 9-for-15 from downtown.

Stephane Jeune of Brighton netted 15 points, all in the second half, including a trio of 3s and Bryan Tyree of Hanson added 11 points.

Gilbert Minaya (Lynn) filled up the box score with six points, 11 assists, six rebounds and four steals in the win.

Massasoit totaled 18 steals on the night, forcing Quinsigamond into 34 turnovers.
