BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit men's basketball team built up a double-digit halftime lead and held off the Eastern Nazarene JV squad, 69-62, on Monday night at the Peter Asiaf Field House.

The Warriors (2-5) led 45-29 at the break as freshman Nash Girodier netted 17 of his career-high 19 points in the opening stanza.

After intermission, the Lions fought their way back into the contest, closing the lead to a single possession. However, Massasoit received a big basket from Taymien Chery (Brockton) as the freshman guard finished with a career-high 22 points on the night.

Nathaniel Semedo and Stephane Jeune added 11 and nine points, respectively.

Girodier finished with a double-double, adding 15 rebounds (10 offensive) to his stat line.

The Warriors host nationally ranked Quincy College on Tuesday at 6 PM.
