Warrior Comeback Falls Short to Bunker Hill

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- The Massasoit men's basketball team overcame a 22-point deficit and pulled within a single basket in the second half, but Bunker Hill pulled away down the stretch to capture a 74-59 victory at the Pete Asiaf Field House.

Massasoit (1-4) trailed 40-18 late in the first half, and went into the locker room down 17 points at the break.

In the second half, the Warriors kept the high-powered Bunker Hill offense quiet, as they eventually pulled within a basket, 53-50, with under five minutes to play.

However, BHCC made free throws down the stretch and Massasoit struggled to score as the Bulldogs earned the victory.

Gilbert Minaya (Lynn) finished with a team-high 16 points by use of only one basket. He went 13 for 18 at the line and added four rebounds and three assists. Nathaniel Semedo (Boston) netted 13 off the bench and Stephane Jeune (Brighton) added 12. Semedo and Jeune each sank three 3s in the contest.

Massasoit is off until Tuesday, December 3rd when the Warriors host Quincy College at 6 PM.
