Massasoit’s Belezos, Georges Earn Men’s Basketball All-Region 21 Second Team Honors

BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Sophomores Bobby Belezos (Holbrook) and Mark Georges (Brockton) earned All-Region 21 Men's Basketball Second Team honors, announced by the conference office on Monday.

The sophomore duo carried the Warriors throughout the 2018-19 season, as Massasoit finished the regular season 13-13 and qualified for postseason play for the third-straight season.

Belezos was an iron man for Massasoit starting all 27 games during his final season. Belezos scored in double figures in every game, averaging 16.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists. The Holbrook native shot 48.8 percent from the floor and 39.3 percent from 3-point range. He scored a career-high 34 points in a road victory at Quincy, that all but secured a playoff spot for the Warriors, connecting for eight 3-pointers in the win.

Georges was another consistent scorer for the Warriors. A third team selection as a freshman, the Brockton native upped his game during his second year at Massasoit. He averaged a team-high 19 points per game, ranking fifth in the region, and 5.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.4 steals per game. He scored over 30 three times in his career, including a 31-point performance in his final game vs Bunker Hill in the Region 21 Tournament. He finished his career with 897 points.
