GROTON, Connecticut ---- The Massasoit men's basketball team used a 26-2 run in the second half to earn an 81-48 victory at the University of Connecticut at Avery Point on Tuesday night.
The win marked the third in a row for the Warriors, and are now winners in four of the last five to own a 5-4 record on the season.
Jarice Harris (Brockton) led Massasoit with a career-high 27 points, highlighted by sinking six 3-pointers.
Mark Georges (Brockton) tallied 20 points, five boards, four assists and four steals, while fellow sophomore Bobby Belezos (Holbrook) added a double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds).
Mike McBirney (East Bridgewater) chipped in with seven points off the bench in the victory.
Massasoit trailed 10-1 in the early goings of the first half, but battled back to take a 39-32 lead at the break as Sam Brown (Raynham) slammed home a breakaway dunk before the buzzer.
In the second half, leading 45-39, Massasoit embarked on a 26-2 run to blow the game open.
Massasoit returns to the court on Saturday with a road contest at Quinsigamond slated for 2 PM.
