BROCKTON, Mass. ---- Massasoit received a big defensive play Bobby Belezos (Holbrook) and clutch 3-pointers by Jarice Harris to claim a nail biting 84-83 victory vs Roxbury on Thursday night.

Massasoit (3-4, 3-4 R21) built up a commanding 50-37 halftime lead as Mark Georges (Brockton), Gilbert Minaya (Lynn) and Belezos all reached double figures by the break.

That lead quickly evaporated after intermission as Roxbury came out of the gates on a 13-0 run to even up the score at 50-all. The Warriors went the first 4:55 without scoring in the second half.

From there it was a classic back-and-forth affair, with the lead swaying back and forth.

Trailing by three points, Harris and Belezos buried back-to-back 3s with under two minutes to take a five-point lead, 82-77.

The Tigers (5-2, 5-2 R21) would pull within a single point, but Belezos took a late charge to help preserve the victory.

Minaya led Massasoit with 24 points, followed by Belezos (19) and Georges (15).

The Warriors finished with 11 made 3-pointers.

Roxbury was paced by Montez Lacombe's game-high 34 points.
