Warriors Earn Thrilling Comeback Victory Over MassBay, 72-66

BROCKTON, Mass. ----- After a sluggish first half, the Massasoit men's basketball team captured a come-from-behind victory against MassBay, 72-66, on Thursday night at the Peter Asiaf Field House.

The victory ups Massasoit's record to 12-5 overall on the season and extends its home winning streak to 9-straight games at "The Pete".

Massasoit fell behind early as the Buccaneers raced out to an 8-0 lead in the early goings.

The Warriors used a late spurt to pull within seven points at the half, with MassBay up 33-26 at intermission.

Trailing for almost the entire second half, Rael Handy (Easton) buried a 3-pointer with 2:46 to tie the game at 63-all.

The game remained tied until Rollsky Edouard (Holbrook) buried a pair of free throws to give the Warriors the lead for good with 1:53 left at 65-63.

Jose Andrade (Brockton) made a clutch insurance layup in the final minute and made two big defensive plays to help seal the deal for the Warriors. Andrade poured in a career-high 14 points, 10 coming in the second half, including a pair of 3s.

Mark Georges (Avon) also netted 14 points, 12 in the second half.  Edouard added 13 points, followed by Handy with 12.

MassBay (11-8, 9-8) was led by Cha'mon Davis' 24 points and 17 points from Didier Mathelier.

The Warriors travel to Springfield Tech on Saturday at 3 PM.
